How your funds help us...
Funds raised from all Challenge Events will allow us to continue providing crucial support to children with cancer or leukaemia and their families. In 2010, approximately 1,600 children (aged 0-14) were diagnosed with cancer. That means approximately 1,600 families heard the devastating news that would turn their lives upside down in an instant. In addition to the emotional trauma that comes with childhood cancer, the family then has to deal with regular hospital appointments, doctors and often painful and draining treatments. It is during this time, and the months that follow, that Lennox aims to make a truly positive difference to the lives of the child, parent and their siblings.
Lennox achieves it's aims through two key projects; Care Grants and Respite Breaks, and these projects are where your sponsors and donations will really make a difference. Care Grants are given to families who are battling the financial side effect of having a child with cancer or leukaemia. These grants can be used to cover a wide range of expenses such as travel costs to and from hospital appointments, household bills or specialist equipment the child may need. Respite Breaks are given to families in need of a break away from hospitals, doctors and treatments where everyone can sit back, relax and take time being a ‘normal’ family. Each family is given a one week break free of charge with spending money and many have said that a short break away is “just what the doctor ordered” for everyone.
