Mozart's ever popular Requiem composed in the last days of his life is being performed by All Saints Chorus and Orchestra in the majestic setting of Southwark Cathedral.

The Requiem will be preceded by the motet Ave Verum Corpus (also written in Mozart's last year) and Beethoven's effervescent Symphony No 8 in F major, this concert is not one to be missed!

All Saints Chorus is one of the finest community choirs in London, led by their charismatic music director and composer Jon Cullen and accompanied by musicians drawn from the capital’s leading orchestras.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was on his deathbed in Vienna in 1791 when
an anonymous patron, who was later discovered to be Count Franz von Walsegg-Stuppach, arrived inviting him to write a mass for the dead. The Count's wife had recently died. Mozart was unable to finish the work before his own death in 1971 and it was was eventually completed by Franz Sussmayr, one of Moxart's pupils, who also wrote the Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei.

The concert is raising funds for Lennox Children's Cancer Fund.
