Donations In Lieu of Flowers
Many families request that donations are made to charity rather than mourners leaving funeral flowers. This wouldn't mean there won’t be any flowers at the funeral, just that floral tributes will be limited to immediate family, while others are invited to make a donation to Lennox Children's Cancer Fund.
Donations made in this way will help us to continue making a positive difference to the lives of children with cancer, and their families.
Often, the funeral director will be willing to collect donations in lieu of flowers. They will handle the administration for you and make sure that they are passed to us on your behalf.
In other cases, the family may prefer to set up an online JustGiving page to enable mourners to make donations online, those donations will come to us via JustGiving. You can set up a JustGiving page by visiting www.justgiving.com/lennox - click 'Fundraise for Us', log in and select 'In Memory'.
If you are placing a family notice or obituary, you may wish to ask people to make a donation instead of sending flowers. In this case the following wording may be helpful:
“The family request that charity donations are made in lieu of flowers. Please make donations payable to Lennox Children's Cancer Fund and post to: Lennox Children's Cancer Fund, 26 Hemmells, Laindon, Basildon, Essex SS15 6ED or visit www.lennoxccf.org.uk/donate"
Some mourners might prefer to make a simple one-off donation in memory of someone close. Donations can be made here, or can be transferred directly to us using the bank account details below. Please use 'In Mem' and the name of your loved one as a reference.
