Fiddler on the Roof
Tue 21st - Sat 25th May 2013
Yet again, Lennox Productions pulled off another fantastic show at the Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch. As always, the cast of more than 50 volunteers showed passion and team spirit through nine months of rehearsals to put on this emotional story of a very traditional family in Russia.
The show was very well received by audiences with some suggesting this is Lennox's 'best show yet'.
Fiddler on the Roof is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905. The story centres on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters - each one's choice of husband moves further away from the customs of his faith - and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
