Lennox Productions' sixth fundraising show, Musical Melodies, was a huge success. The musical, which ran for three performances (including a matinee), was wonderfully written and directed by Catherine Grief who also performed in the show alongside seven other actors who volunteered their time.
An original script followed eight members of a theatre group through a day of rehearsals by skillfully incorporating some of the most popular songs from stage and film to tell tales of friendship, love and laughter. Using a brilliant musical score, adapted by Natalie Thurlow, the live four piece band played hits from musicals such as 'Les Misrables', 'Anything Goes', 'Oklahoma', 'Guys’n’Dolls', 'Chicago', 'Phantom of the Opera' and many more. This fundraising production was full of energy and even got the audience 'doing the Lambeth Walk', vocally at least! Very well done to everyone involved and thank you for helping to raise over £800. Thank you to the production team, cast, band, helpers and, of course, everyone who came along to support the charity and enjoy the show. Special thanks also to The Brookside Theatre for donating use of the theatre, Paul Lazell and Mo Jones for props, Lee Pierson and Alan Foale for poster and leaflet design.
