Over 10,000 eager participants gathered in the streets around Trafalgar Square including our four Lennox runners – Gemma Fitzmaurice who was running with Charlie Clark, and Pete Stothard in the company of Bob Keeley.
After a brief greeting and photo opportunity outside the National Gallery, the fab four made their way to their starting pens where they anticipated the starting claxon with a high-energy warm up session. The sun was out and the atmosphere was buzzing as runners waited impatiently for the race to start. As the claxon sounded the front runners took off from the start line and the rest of the crowd soon followed.
This year’s theme was ‘A Very British Street Party’, and dotted along the course were DJs playing British dance hits, brass bands and drum troupes all helping to keep the atmosphere lively and the runners’ adrenaline flowing.
As they made their way up the final straight in Whitehall and crossed the finish line to a goody bag and a banana the relief was clear to see on their faces. We hope our runners are very proud of their finishing times and overall performance on the day.
Huge thanks and a massive well done to Gemma, Charlie, Pete and Bob for all their efforts!
