By 3.45pm our eager Clubbercisers were gathered, full of energy, at Wykeham Hall in anticipation of the big event. As Carly and Michelle, the official Clubbercise instructors, put the finishing touches to the sound and disco lighting, the participants made the last few additions to their brightly coloured outfits – fluorescent tutus, glittery face paint and flashing glow sticks galore! Everyone looked fantastic!!
The Lennox team busily sold refreshments, raffle tickets and glow sticks, but as the sun went down outside the party really started. The main lights went out and instructor Carly took charge for the first hour as the music pumped and the disco lights dazzled. After the first few tentative steps, everyone joined the routines with real gusto. Arms waved, feet pounded and sounds of the 90s filled the air.
As the temperature in the hall rose and windows were opened wide, the second hour’s instructor’s honours went to Michelle. Despite a few, very welcome, water breaks, the energy in the room never wavered from beginning to end - everyone gave 110 percent.
Our biggest thanks go to local Clubbercise instructors Carly Faiers and Michelle Duckett who gave us their time and energy completely free of charge, and to everyone who came along, joined in and helped us to raise over £1,000 to support children with cancer this Christmas.
