Holiday Home's 19k Refurb

30/5/2016

The charity’s beautiful New Forest lodge has been providing holiday memories for more than 18 years. In that time, over 800 children with cancer have enjoyed family respite holidays at the lodge, usually during, or shortly after their treatment.

This year, the three bedroom lodge underwent a major refurbishment costing more than £19,000.

The refurbishment will make sure that the lodge continues to be a home from home for families who need a short break away from doctors, hospitals and treatment.

It is in high demand all year through, and the difference a respite break can make during the emotional rollercoaster of childhood cancer is simply immeasurable.

The £19k refurb included new double glazed windows and doors throughout, a new bathroom suite with re-tiling, a freshly painted kitchen with new oven, new sink and taps, new utensils and white goods, and most excitingly, a new dishwasher!

There are new mattresses and bedding in the bedrooms, while the lounge features new wooden furniture as well as a new three-seater sofa and a sofa bed.
