The students, teachers and community of St. Mary's Hare Park School in Romford had lots of fun when they ditched the uniforms for their 2013 Christmas Appeal with a Play Your Cards Right theme. Gemma Fitzmaurice, a mother of two students at the school and charity representative went to collect a cheque for £400.07 following the event. Thank you to everyone who helped to plan the day, and to all those who took part.

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund is helping people across England and Wales to have a positive impact at the hearts of their communities by giving grants to over 1,300 local good causes. We are one of four good causes in Havering and by being shortlisted we are guaranteed to receive an award. Two will receive £3,000 each, while the other two will receive £300 each.
Two of our fundraisers, Claire Bull and Nancy Wilson, visited the manager and staff at the Romford Market branch as part of the bank’s celebrations for the re-launch of the Lloyds brand. They are one of the five branches who took part in Havering. The other four branches are in Elm Park, Station Lane Hornchurch, Collier Row and Upminster.
Voting has now closed and we are eagerly awaiting news of our placing. Thank you to all of our supporters who voted through text, online or in a Lloyds branch!
Receiving this award will make such a huge difference to our Respite Breaks project and the families we help. It is often very difficult for a family with a child with cancer to book a holiday, yet it is crucial for them to spend that time together. £3000 from Lloyds Community Fund will mean that we can help these families relax completely by giving them a little spending money for daytrips and meals.

John Beach, Gareth Beach, Jay Ryan, Michael Ryan, Sam Kersey and Mark Peel (pictured) travelled from Essex to a very muddy Pippingford Park in East Sussex to brave the elements for Lennox. The team have already raised £560 for the charity with more still to come! Thank you to our brave team, and to Lindsey Horne who went along to support them on the day.

We're fundraising to give seven year old, Oliver, and his two brothers, a beautiful garden to play in this summer, plus a trampoline and enclosure. Oliver is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and wont finish his treatment until 2015, so a little respite fun at home is very important to the whole family.
