Despite temperatures reaching in excess of 30 degrees in the midday sun, over 150 brave people arrived in their droves (and fantastic superhero outfits) to take part in the three-lap 5km Fun Run. It was a beautiful sight to see whole families getting involved in the dressing-up with adults and children alike donning Spiderman, Batman and Wonder Woman outfits, amongst many other superhero favourites.
After a brief superhero-themed warm up with local fitness instructor Carly Faiers, the runners were held in anticipation under the start/finish arch until the run was started by Lennox patron and star of TV’s Disney Channel, Lloyd Warbey.

As the starting horn sounded, runners of all ages and abilities filed under the arch and made their way onto the route. The atmosphere was buzzing and after just 27 minutes the first finisher made his way across the line to receive his medal, goody bag and a well-earned round of applause from the waiting crowd.
