4th February is World Cancer Day
There are more than 100 types of cancer that affect 14.1 million people worldwide each year*
World Cancer Day is a global event that takes place to help raise awareness, and much needed funding for cancer charities. It is a great opportunity to spread the word and educate people worldwide. We want you to get involved with your friends, families, neighbours and work colleagues to help us raise awareness and funds for children fighting cancer! Visit the Get Involved section of our website to see the many ways you can help! Did you know...? The chances of winning the lottery are 1 in 175,000,000. The chances of having a child diagnosed with cancer are 1 in 285. When cancer strikes, it turns the lives of the entire family upside down. We are here to provide practical, emotional and financial assistance in any way possible. We have a fantastic family support team who can provide emotional support by telephone, email or face-to-face, and also offer welfare advice to help with long-term financial stability. We also offer respite breaks and additional financial help in the form of care grants. Roxie-Beau's Cancer Journey
![]() Roxie-Beau was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a cancerous tumour on the brain, in December 2015. She underwent surgery, and chemotherapy before being given the 'all-clear'. Then, one year later after her original diagnosis, a routine scan showed a re-growth of the same tumour, and Roxie-Beau had to begin her fight all over again!
Did you know that childhood cancer costs families an extra £600 per month? For the last 20 months, Roxie's parents have been dividing their time between work and the hospital, which has reduced their income and had a huge impact financially. Click here to find out more about Roxie-Beau and how your support has helped her family. |
